Alternative Provision

We run a wide range of provisions for young people (11-16 years old) in alternative education. Learners can come to the Academy for up to three days per week, to engage in vocational activities in hair and beauty, as well as developing some fundamental transferable skills such as; working as part of a team, problem solving, and starting your own business.

We are now working with 11 schools across Seaham and Sunderland, and provide over 6 sessions per week for our young learners.

We have completed the due diligence for Durham County Council AP directory and Sunderland City Council AP directory.

During the sessions the young learners will cover a range of practical training including;
– manicure and nail art
– makeup
– facials
– hair pin ups and styling
– lashes
– mood boards and promotional campaigns.

What our academic year looked like:

– We have participated in three very successful Ofsted visits across our Sunderland and Seaham provision.

– 49 learners were supported in our AP groups

– We have ran a range of competitions across our AP groups, with them being rewarded with positive praise and prizes

– The AP groups all contributed to creating our first AP magazine, which showcases their talents
