Meet our wonderful VTCT Level 3 Hair and beauty educators who deliver our Level 3 courses. They bring with them a wealth of knowledge and expertise within the hair and beauty industry; and all have a minimum of a Level 3 teaching qualification.
Emma is our amazing Beauty Tutor, who comes with so much knowledge about the industry; we know you are all going to love training with her!
She has been in the beauty industry for 13 years, with many of those years spent in a city centre hotel spa as a assistant manager. Emma has three years teaching experience in a college where she was the COURSE LEADER for the Foundation Degree in Beauty Therapy and Spa Management… AMAZING… Emma did this as well as delivering advanced skin treatments and management modules on this course she also taught massage, aromatherapy and Indian head massage. Alongside this, Emma has also taught management modules across the travel and hospitality degrees.
Emma comes with so much experience and knowledge, she is a huge asset to the Academy.
Joanne gained her Level 3 in Education in Training at Washington campus back in 2018. From here she went on to Middlesbrough university and completed a Certificate in Education, graduating in 2020. She joined our Bella Marie team as a Level 3 Nail tutor in September 2020 and has been delivering the VTCT Level Nail courses ever since!
Joanne has over 14 years’ experience in the beauty industry, with 2 years teaching. She has also just completed her assessing qualification. Joanne got into teaching because she wanted to pass her knowledge and passion for beauty onto others.
She is extremely competitive in everything! And has a very vivid imagination which shows in everything she does. Joanne strives to make her lessons as fun as possible; which you will see when you train with her!
Sarah gained her original beauty qualifications 21 years ago! After having a few other jobs here and there, Sarah became a wife and mam of 2. During this time she worked towards an FdA in Education and Care.
Sarah then decided to venture back into the beauty industry. She completed some refresher training courses and then opened her own beauty business. She then graduated from Sunderland Uni in 2015 with a Commendation. After a short spell working in a primary school, Sarah soon found herself using her degree and beauty knowledge to help people get into the beauty industry. Sarah has now worked with a few different academies before joining us here at the Academy delivering our commercial courses in hair and beauty.
A little unknown fact about Sarah, she actually has her name in the credits as part of the makeup team on an Amazon film pilot!
Shannon is our barbering tutor; she has over nine year’s experience in the barbering industry, with over four years teaching and assessing. She has now been at the Academy for 3 years, delivering our VTCT Level 3 Barbering courses.
Shannon also took part in the National Hair and Beauty Competitions, coming second in the Design and Creative Patterns category.
Shannon changes her hair colour weekly, so the colour it is in this photo, it’s likely it won’t be the same now!
Gina is another one of our barbering tutor who joined us in March 2021. She has been working in the Hair industry for over 10 years now.
Originally from London, Gina worked and managed the award-winning men’s salon, HOBMan. Whilst she was there, Gina found her passion for teaching, gaining her teaching qualifications and becoming a part of the education team. She now has over 4 years teaching and assessing experience.
