Qualification Overview

The VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a vocational assessor. This VTCT qualification will support you to gain employment as a vocational assessor. The units contained in this qualification cover all the skills and knowledge required to prepare you for this role.

We can support with assessing opportunities at the academy so you don’t have to find your own placement.

This qualification is the only Level 3 certificate offered by VTCT in Assessing Vocational Achievement.

Units for this course include:

  • Understanding the principles and practices of assessment.
  • Assess occupational competence in the work environment.
  • Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding.

This qualification is great for anyone who’s looking to gain employment as a vocational assessor.
What could this qualification lead to?
Whilst completing this qualification will prepare you for employment as a vocational assessor in the education and training sector; progression opportunities to level 4 qualifications also exist including:

– VTCT Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice

– VTCT Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice

– VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice

What will I learn?
On successful completion of the course you will be able to understand the different types of assessment and how effective assessing is important in guiding candidates through the learning pathway. You will gain the skills and knowledge to successfully evaluate practitioners carrying out assessments in the classroom and work environment. 
How will I be assessed?
The qualification is delivered through 4 workshops over a 12 week period. You will be assessed by assessing other assessors and 2 learners. We can support with assessing opportunities at the academy so you don’t have to find your own placement. 
How much is it?
