Qualification Overview

The VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Salon Management is an exciting vocational qualification. It will help you develop ways to gain employment as a salon manager. The units contained in this VTCT qualification cover all the skills and knowledge that a salon manager needs. This VTCT qualification will teach you how to develop both management and technical skills required for a hair and beauty salon manager.

This qualification is not only recognised internationally and opens up many career opportunities as a salon manager such as: Beauty salons, hair salons, nail salons, beauty/nail retail concessions in department stores, day spa or hotel spa and cruise ships.

Advanced learning loan pre-requisites to qualify:

  • Learners must be 19 years old on the first day of your course, however there is no upper age limit.
  • You need to be living in the UK or have lived in the UK, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man for the past three years.
  • A national insurance number, a valid passport OR original birth certificate is required for enrollment.
  • You need to be enrolling on an eligible course at Level 3 and above.

You will cover seven units in this qualification:

  • Sales management in the hair and beauty sector
  • Public relations in the hair and beauty sector
  • Salon management
  • Human resource management within the hair and beauty sector
How will I be assessed?
The qualification is delivered through a blended learning approach. This is a combination of traditional classroom teaching (face-to-face) and online learning/independent study.

Classroom full-day sessions to begin each unit

Independent study – reading and research with remote tutor support; recommended self-study of 8/10 hours per week
